"On Tuesday I went skiing with daddy and I learned how to ski on my own. We went around the back of the mountain and dad used a rope to help me so I wouldn't go out of control. Then I went down the Face of the mountain with out dad holding on" ~Brooklyn

"I had lots of fun skiing. Dad took Brooklyn and I to the top of the mountain. When we were about half way up dad told us to turn around and look down. When we looked down we both screamed at the same time." Natalie had fun too. She was skiing between Dad's legs. It was so much fun I didn't want to stop." ~Savannah

Really yummy!

OK I don't blog recipes, but this is my new favorite thing, and it's so easy it can hardly even be considered a recipe. Here goes
Take some torrilla bread
Spread some sun dried tomato pesto on the breadAdd some tomato-basil feta cheese and any of your favorite toppings (mine are spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, Japanese eggplant, crumbled bacon, and Parmesan cheese) Then you put it the oven at 375 for about 8-10 minuets and wall-la there you go. Its soooo good!

Goats

We got goats. Yes actual goats. I think it started at the pumpkin patch, spending half the day in the goat pen, and then going back a 2nd day not to get pumpkins, but yes to see the goats again. Then good ol' grandpops says he can get us some free goats. A few other offers for some free fencing.... and really how could you say no to something so cute. Look how happy they are :) Have we crossed the line to hicks yet?

Salsa Anyone?

The other night at dinner we had something with salsa and Natalie boycotted dinner and grabed the jar of salsa and started eating it with her spoon.

Christmas Pictures

Our power was out all morning on Christmas. I was expecting it to go out the week before when it was actually stormy (it usually does) and I was all ready for it then, but no it decided to go out for Christmas, so most of our pictures turned out dark or funky dark/flash pictures since of course the girls wanted to open presents when it was still dark outside. We had made cinnamon rolls the night before and since we couldn't cook them in the oven we put them in the dutch oven and Shawn used the BBQ to cook them and they actually turned out pretty good.

All Brooklyn and Emma wanted for Christmas was a spy kit. Luckily even their friends wanted to know what the heck is a spy kit? to which they responded "duh! everything you need to be a spy. good thing Santa knows what's up. He brought them a kit with walkie talkies, a digital camera, binoculars and of course disguises. I wish they would stop spying on me... I keep getting in trouble.

S, B, & E have been cooking dinner with me once a week for the past few months. They each have their own night and they get to pick the dinner they want to cook. Savannah loves to try new recipies and is getting to be really good. They each got their own cook book and apron- can't wait to try their new creations. Yummm!

SNOW!

We're gonna have snow for Christmas! I'm so excited! This will be my first Christmas ever in the snow. Brooklyn was sure it wouldn't be Christmas until it snowed (I'm not sure why since it's her first Christmas with snow too). The first day it snowed we got about 10 inches overnight and the girls were outside playing by 8:00. I can't usually even get them up and dressed by 8 in the morning, let alone outside and playing.

Natalie really wanted to go outside,
but didn't really like touching the snow.

First ones out!

Shawn's having a little to much fun trying out the new plow for the quad.
